Wireless Broadband is fast becoming the most popular method of connecting to the internet. I can purchase all of the equipment for you or advise on the best value for money if you would rather buy it yourself.

Wi-fi works by having a modem/router that connects to the internet. Once set up it can be disconnected from the computer and it will then connect automatically and broadcast the signal (just like a radio signal).

The computer then needs a means of picking up this signal and this is usually in the form of a small receiver that plugs into a USB socket. Most modern laptops come with a receiver already fitted internally.

I can set all this up for you and this will include the installation of a security password system to prevent outsiders using your internet connection. It is very important to put anti-virus and firewall software on your computer and this is covered in the Broadband section of the web site.
